God has chosen you. God calls you into his presence. He calls you by name and claims you as his very own. Through baptism we are all given a new birth by water and the Holy Spirit and become children of our heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. Baptism marks the beginning of our calling to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. Every day we remember our baptism and live in the confidence of God’s promises!
What is Baptism?
John the Baptist tells us, “I baptize you with water for repentance, but the one who is coming after me is more powerful than I, and I am not worthy to carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” (Matthew 3:11).
Jesus declares, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.” (John 3:5).
And Peter proclaims, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to him.” (Acts 2:38-39).

The CROSS reminds us that we are “gathered” by the Holy Spirit who calls us together at the foot of the cross.
The heart of our life together is the person of Jesus—who he is and what he has done for us. We do not move up toward God. God comes down to us. God gathers us into God’s presence to give us God’s gracious gifts. God speaks to us, and we, in turn, respond through prayer, praise and service.
Kindred Lutheran Church places a high priority on God’s Word, prayer, Biblical preaching, engaging worship, and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
