9th Grade confirmation students make a faith fold in the fall before their confirmation which occurs the last Sunday in October on Reformation Sunday.
What’s a faith fold?
Think of a science fair display constructed of corrugated cardboard, about a yard high with three panels on it. On its three sections, students express important elements of their faith. Students pick a theme for their faith-fold, identify topics that have helped them form their faith foundation, develop and write stories on each of the topics, create their presentation on the faith-fold, and then spend time learning how to talk about those faith topics. The following items, which we will work on during class and at home, are to be included:
Below are examples of past faith folds:
The LEAF reminds us that we are gathered “to grow”. We recall Jesus’ words, "I am the vine, you are the branches. If a person remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15:5-6). We offer learning opportunities for all ages and small groups designed to help you grow while fostering friendships with other people in a safe and caring environment. No one should stand alone.
