When is Fifth Grade Communion?

Classes are held during Lent (February and March) to teach children and their caring adults about communion, why we celebrate it and what it means. The children receive communion during a special service on Maundy Thursday before Easter Sunday during Holy Week when we all gather around tables in the sanctuary to share this sacred meal.

The LEAF reminds us that we are gathered “to grow”.

We recall Jesus’ words, “I am the vine, you are the branches. If a person remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5-6).

We offer learning opportunities for all ages and small groups designed to help you grow while fostering friendships with other people in a safe and caring environment. No one should stand alone.
