Check out the Kindred Lutheran quilting group and join the fun as they make quilts for charitable organizations and graduating high school seniors.
The men and women in this group make quilts every year for our graduating seniors, a variety of charitable organizations for the Fargo-Moorhead area as well as throughout the world. The creation of these pieces of art is a large undertaking and we would like to say a special thank you for those who contributed to the senior quilts in May of 2021: thank you to Peggy Kragnes for the quilting (batting and decorative stitching); the quilt tops and binding were finished by Ann Helbling, Carlotta Spelhaug, Karen Hertsgaard, and JoAnn Ordahl.
We return to the CROSS which reminds us that Jesus came not to be served but “to serve” (Matthew 20:28).
Being servants is our calling as disciples who are obedient to Christ’s command, “So if I, your Lord and teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you. Very truly, I tell you, servants are not greater than their Master, nor are messengers greater than the one who sent them” (John 13:14-16).
We reach beyond the walls of the church, serving the needy and hurting in our immediate community as well as the world. This is faith active in love.
