We return to the CROSS which reminds us that Jesus came not to be served but “to serve” (Matthew 20:28).
Being servants is our calling as disciples who are obedient to Christ’s command, “So if I, your Lord and teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you. Very truly, I tell you, servants are not greater than their Master, nor are messengers greater than the one who sent them” (John 13:14-16).
We reach beyond the walls of the church, serving the needy and hurting in our immediate community as well as the world. This is faith active in love.
