The CROSS reminds us that we are “gathered” by the Holy Spirit who calls us together at the foot of the cross. The heart of our life together is the person of Jesus—who he is and what he has done for us. We do not move up toward God. God comes down to us. God gathers us into his presence to give us his gracious gifts. God speaks to his people, and we, in turn, respond through prayer, praise and service. Kindred Lutheran Church places a high priority on God’s Word, prayer, Biblical preaching, engaging worship, and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

God has chosen you. God calls you into his presence. He calls you by name and claims you as his very own. Through baptism we are all given a new birth by water and the Holy Spirit and become children of our heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. Baptism marks the beginning of our calling to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. Every day we remember our baptism and live in the confidence of God's promises!
John the Baptist tells us, "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire" (Matthew 3:11).
Jesus declares, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit" (John 3:5).
And Peter proclaims, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call" (Acts 2:38-39).
