9th Grade confirmation students make a faith project in the fall before their confirmation which occurs the last Sunday in October on Reformation Sunday. All faith projects will be displayed for the congregation on Reformation Sunday.

What’s a faith project

A faith project is anything that can be made to represent the faith of the confirmand.

Think of a science fair display constructed of corrugated cardboard, about a yard high with three panels on it. Within the project, students express important elements of their faith. Students pick a theme for their faith project, identify topics that have helped them form their faith foundation, develop and write stories on each of the topics, create their faith project, and then spend time learning how to talk about those faith topics. The following items are ideas that can be included, but should not be the only part, in the faith project:

• Title and Confirmand’s name
• Confirmation Bible Verse chosen by student
• Faith Web
• Faith Statement
• Baptism (pictures, objects, candle, etc.)
• Favorite Bible Stories
• Favorite Bible Characters
